The almost universal Imperfection of all resonance phenomena is connected with the spatio-temporal properties of our universe: to be in perfect resonance, the distance between two oscillators would have to be a precise multiple of their wave-length; which is impossible if the oscillators are in relative motion, or are themselves extended physical systems rather than mass points. Moreover, the relativity of simultaneity makes anything like perfect resonance impossible (since resonators are not inertial systems: two resonators, especially if their frequency is high, must, even if they are located in the same inertial system, change their hyperplane of simultaneity; and they cannot do this simultaneously.
Thus imperfection may be a major building block of our so obviously non-Parmenidean world. In fact, it seems likely that a world in perfect resonance could not exist - in the sense that nothing could ever happen in such a world: it would indeed be a Parmenidean world.
